1 dead, 2 hurt in Nueva Ecija gun attack

BONGABON, Nueva Ecija — An unidentified gunman on Monday killed a 53-year-old woman and wounded two minor victims in this town, police said.
Investigators identified the fatality as Marites Peralta, 53, of Barangay Rizal in this town, while the wounded were a 15-year-old vendor from Guimba town and an 11-year-old resident of this town.
The police said the motorcycle-riding assailant shot the victims repeatedly at past 9 p.m. in Barangay Sinipit in this city.
The victims suffered bullet wounds in different parts of their bodies and were taken to a local hospital, but Peralta was declared dead on arrival.
Police said the minors were transferred to an undisclosed medical facility.
Investigators were still trying to establish the identity of the gunman and the motive behind the shooting. INQ
