12 senators maintain ‘perfect attendance’ from July 2023

Twelve of the 24 senators of the 19th Congress registered “perfect attendance” since the lawmaking body’s Second Regular Session started on July 24, 2023, according to Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, citing records from the Senate Secretariat. INQUIRER FILES

MANILA, Philippines — Twelve of the 24 senators of the 19th Congress registered excellent attendance since the lawmaking body’s Second Regular Session started on July 24, 2023.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri announced the “perfect attendance” of the 12 senators, which included him, Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, and Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, citing records from the Senate Secretariat.

“In my long years as a public servant, I have learned this one important thing: true leadership starts by showing up for the important work for the people. And here in the Senate, we take that to heart,” Zubiri said in a mix of Filipino and English in a statement released by his office on Tuesday.

“Our camaraderie in the Senate is good. Many of us demonstrate our dedication to our duty by being here on most session days,” he added.

The other senators who logged 100% presence at the Senate from July 2023 were:

  • Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa
  • Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada
  • Senator Sherwin Gatchalian
  • Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go
  • Senator Risa Hontiveros
  • Senator Robinhood Padilla
  • Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla
  • Senator Raffy Tulfo
  • Senator Cynthia Villar

As for the attendance during Senate sessions held from July 25 to December 14, 2022, half of the 24-member upper chamber also recorded perfect participation.

They were Zubiri, Legarda, dela Rosa, Estrada, Gatchalian, Padilla, Go, Hontiveros, Revilla, Minority Leader Koko Pimentel III, and Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito.

The document from the Senate Secretariat likewise indicated that Senator Alan Peter Cayetano had the most absences with 14.
