2 suspects in killing of elderly woman fall in follow-up ops in Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Two suspects tagged in the killing of a 63-year-old woman in Manila were arrested during a follow-up operation last January 15, police said on Wednesday.
In a report, the Manila Police District (MPD) said it identified suspects Abdulgani Mansore Said, 35; and Morsid Omal Pendatun, 25, after backtracking a series of CCTV footage after a shooting incident transpired along J. Bocobo Street corner Engracia Reyes Street, Ermita.
Citing an unnamed witness’ account, police said Said allegedly shot victim Paulina Vergara Antoni in the head before casually walking toward the direction of Padre Faura street.
Her family immediately brought Antoni to Manila Doctors Hospital, but she was later pronounced dead due to hemorrhagic shock.

CCTV footage showed Said riding a motorcycle driven by Pendatun. They were seen traversing along Manila streets before parking in front of a building along 11th Street, Barangay 650 Zone 68, which helped authorities to locate them.
Both are currently under MPD’s custody, along with the confiscated motorcycle they used to escape the crime scene. Homicide complaints will be filed against them, police said.
