50,000 farmers complete agri training at Tesda
More than 50,000 farmers and their dependents completed agriculture-related training courses under the Rice Extension Service Program (RESP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda). Tesda Director General Danilo Cruz said a total of 53,221 farmers took part in the agency’s programs under the RESP. Eastern Visayas recorded the highest number of graduates with 6,056, followed by Central Luzon and Western Visayas with 5,263 and 4,797 graduates respectively. Cruz said Tesda prioritized agriculture courses to upskill farmworkers and help the country achieve food security and independence.
