P6.8-M shabu seized, 2 suspects arrested in Lanao del Sur drug sting

COTABATO CITY — Anti-narcotics agents, backed by police and military troops, seized on Thursday some P6.8 million worth of suspected meth and arrested two alleged drug dealers during an entrapment operation in Bubong town, Lanao del Sur.

Director Gil Cesario Castro of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) identified the arrested suspects as Jamel Dimaporo, 29, and Jalil Macaayong, 19, both of Barangay Pindolonan in the town of Bubong.

Dimaporo and Macaayong were immediately arrested after handing over a kilo of meth to an undercover agent during the operation at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Soldiers from the 103rd Infantry Brigade and personnel from the Lanao del Sur police provincial office backed the PDEA agents.

Also on Wednesday, a drug den in Barangay Rosary Heights 10 here was dismantled and four drug personalities were arrested during a law enforcement operation at around 10:45 p.m.

The PDEA agents, backed by the Cotabato City Police Station 2 and the PNP Maritime unit, seized 58 small sachets of meth and arrested Warren Datukaka, 34, Salma Abdullah Angkal, 34, Jobaine Guiabar Pantacan, 35, and Rabaibani Guiabar, 61. Guiabar, a widow, was identified to be the operator of the drug den.

Charges are being prepared against the arrested suspects who are now under the custody of the PDEA-BARMM and detained at its facility here.

PDEA-BARMM’s haul of seized illegal drugs has now amounted to P30 million since January 1.
