Body of fish vendor, once nabbed in drug bust, found hogtied in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines — The body of a fish vendor, formerly jailed for illegal drugs, was found hogtied with multiple gunshot wounds at Simon Village in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City on Friday, Jan. 27.
The vendor was identified as Henry Paul Javier Bombate, 22, a resident of Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago in Bacolod.
He had four gunshot wounds in the head and three in his body, according to Maj. Elmer Bonilla, Police Station 7 chief.
The victim’s hands and feet were tied while his mouth and eyes were covered with duct tape.
Bombate, who is a father of two, was last seen by his family when he left home at 4 p.m. on Thursday, his sister Bea Bombate said.
Someone was using her brother’s Facebook account Thursday night and withdrew P3,900 from his GCash account, she said.
Bonilla said it is possible that the victim was killed somewhere else and his body was just dumped at Simon Village as residents did not hear any gunshots.
Bonilla said Bombate had previously been arrested in a drug bust conducted by Station 3 policemen in Barangay 12, Bacolod.
On Wednesday, two chopped-off hands soaked in beef broth were also left in Barangay 2 in Bacolod. A list of 22 persons linked to illegal drugs was also found.
Bombate’s name was not among the 22 on the list, Bonilla said.
