Bongbong Marcos back in Manila from 43rd Asean Summit
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrived in the Philippines after the 43rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Marcos arrived at Villamor Airbase aboard the Presidential plane at 12:35 a.m. Friday.
The Asean Summit allowed Marcos to meet with different world leaders to discuss various matters, including trade and maritime security.
The South China Sea was a hot topic during the Summit, with countries taking the opportunity to assert its sovereignty.
Marcos reiterated that the Philippines will continue to uphold its right to navigate in the disputed waters, all while urging involved parties to practice self-restraint.
