Classes, gov’t work in Olongapo suspended due to bomb threat

OLONGAPO CITY — Operations of government offices, except for those delivering essential emergency services, and classes at all levels in both public and private schools in this city were suspended on Monday, Feb. 12, afternoon due to a bomb threat.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. told the Inquirer in a text message that the local government’s management information systems received the bomb threat via email.

“But it circulated nationally and on social media,” Paulino said.

He announced on Facebook that the threat was received by some government offices.

“It’s probably a hoax, and there’s no need to worry. But to be sure and be cautious, work in government offices and classes are suspended this afternoon. Private schools are now included to reassure everyone,” said Paulino.

He added that the city police officers were checking the government offices to immediately rule out the threat. INQ
