Classes in Tagbilaran City suspended due to rains

TAGBILARAN CITY — In-person classes in this city were suspended on Thursday due to continuous rains brought by the shear line and low pressure area.

The entire province of Bohol is under Yellow Rainfall alert as of 11 a.m.

Heavy rainfall is experienced in Tagbilaran City.

Mayor Jane Yap announced the suspension in her Facebook account.

“This is to ensure the safety of our students,” she said.

Classes from basic and secondary levels were suspended from noon until the rest of the afternoon.

Meanwhile, elementary and high school students in Valencia town were sent home at 2 p.m.

Afternoon classes at all levels in Getafe town were also suspended, said Mayor Casey Camacho.
