DOST inviting high school students to join nuclear science competition

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI) will hold its first Philippine Nuclear Science Olympiad (PNSO) for secondary students in December.

The PNRI on Wednesday said that the winners will  participate in the first International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO)which will be held in the country from July to August 2024.

Interested students should not be more than 18 years old, and must not be enrolled or admitted in a university or college by August 7, 2024.

Participating schools may nominate up to three students endorsed by the Department of Education Division Office or by the school principal or head.

The official participants from the initial list of nominees will be announced on November 22.

Registration will run until November 17.

Dr. Chitho Feliciano, PNSO’s lead organizer, said that the winners of the first PNSO will also receive cash prizes, and will be trained by PNRI experts for 2024 INSO.
