DSWD works with Neda for 4Ps adjustments amid inflation
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DWD) said on Tuesday that it is working with the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for any adjustments to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, or 4Ps.
This follows after President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. told the DSWD to ensure that inflation will not affect the financial assistance given by the government.

“Inflation always hits the bottom 30 the hardest so that is why the President instructed DSWD to work with PSA and Neda to come up with a right mechanism to protect the value of our grants,” DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said.
Gatchalian added that the 4Ps also aims to be at the right amount for people and to be responsive to their needs.
“It is not only about being timely, but it is also being responsive and making sure that it is the right amount,” he added.

The DSWD also shared that it will also meet with other officials for the amendments of Republic Act No. 11310 or the 4Ps Law.
The agency added that currently, there are around 4.4 million 4Ps beneficiaries nationwide.
