Farmer dead, 2 others hurt in shooting incident in Quezon province
LUCENA CITY—A 63-year-old farmer was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting incident Monday in San Andres town in Quezon province.
The Quezon police reported on Tuesday, August 2, that an unidentified man shot Bernabe Ebarsabal repeatedly as he was sitting around 7 p.m. on the veranda of his house in Barangay Pansoy. The victim died instantly.
After the shooting, three other men with short firearms went to a hut some 15 meters away from Ebarsabal’s house and shot Don Don Argawanon, 34, and Jurnel Nick Riveral, 55, who were inside.
The two survived the shooting and were taken to a municipal hospital in nearby San Francisco town.
In a phone interview Tuesday morning, case investigator Staff Sergeant Aikee Genton described the victims as “ordinary farmers” with no records on their files.
The police are investigating the incident further to unmask the killers and establish the motive behind the killing.
