Fake proclamation: Chavez takes full responsibility for fiasco

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Assistant for Strategic Communications Cesar Chavez on Thursday took responsibility for the fake proclamation declaring December 22 as a half-working day.
“Apologies. I also posted a content that was not first verified by me,” said Chavez in a statement.
“For the confusion, the blame should be on me. I take full responsibility for this,” he added.
The declaration, Proclamation No. 427, circulated online and was even shared by other government agencies and local government units.
Chavez was one of the first individuals to post the proclamation through his Facebook page.
Presidential Communications Office Sec. Cheloy Garafil already refuted the proclamation and tagged it “fake.”
Based on the Official Gazette, the real Proclamation No. 427 involves declaring nine individuals as “manlilikha ng bayan.”
