PH students bag bronze medals in Denmark robotics tilt
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Robotics team captured bronze medals at the World Robotics Olympiad Friendship Invitational tournament in Denmark from September 21 to 24.
Sabina Lim and Gevenyl Canlas from the Department of Education’s Special Education for the Gifted in Olongapo City bagged the bronze medal in the Future Innovators Elementary Division with a score of 149.50.
Aaron James Amar, Andrea Luz Guevarra and Daniella Angela De Guzman of Dr. Yanga Colleges, Inc. likewise bagged third-place honors in the Senior Division of the same event, scoring 170.00.
Nellie E. Brown Elementary School of Olongapo City took 38th place at the RoboMission Elementary Division, while the Columban College Barretto Inc., also in Olongapo City, finished 20th in the Senior Division.
“The victory of the robotics team at the World Robot Olympiad is a proud moment for the Philippines. We are delighted that these Filipino students have proven that we have what it takes to be a frontrunner in the field of robotics,” Philippine Ambassador to Denmark Leo-Herrera Lim said.
