Isko Moreno appointed as North Luzon Railways Corp. board member
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Manila City Vice Mayor and defeated senatorial candidate Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso to a government post.
Moreno was named a member of the board of directors of the North Luzon Railways Corporation (NLRC). Duterte signed his appointment papers on July 12 but Malacañang released it on Wednesday.
Moreno replaced Jose Martin Aliling and would serve his unexpired term that began on July 1, 2017 and would end on June 30, 2018.
Moreno on Wednesday told reporters in a phone interview that he was nominated by Duterte as chairman and CEO of NLRC.
The Bases Conversion Development Authority, he said, had just approved his new position.
“I am grateful to President Duterte for giving me a chance again to go back to public service. As for expectations for the job, that I don’t know yet. I’m now on my way to Balara office (of NorthRail) to work agad. Magre-report na ako agad para walang masayang na oras sa taumbayan,” he said. JE
