LTO-NCR West deploys 200 personnel for Holy Week, ‘summer’ break
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region West (LTO-NCR West) on Monday said it deployed more than 200 personnel to ensure orderly traffic this Holy Week and during the “summer” vacation.
LTO-NCR West Regional Director Roque Verzosa III said in a statement that the directive was in line with implementing the Department of Transportation’s “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Oplan Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2023.”
“In the best interest of the service, the following personnel is hereby directed to implement Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Oplan Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2023 and to enforce R. A. 4136, otherwise known as the ‘Land Transportation and Traffic Code,’ and other special laws from March 31–April 10, 2023, and Oplan Isnabero from April 11–12, 2023,” he said through Regional Office Order No. 54.
“Attendance is a must,” he added.
According to Verzosa, throughout Holy Week and the school summer break, the Regional Operations Center and the Regional Law Enforcement Unit teamed up to provide comfortable travel and protect the safety of the riding public and motorists. The two units combined for a total of 25.
Also, 209 LTO-NCR West law enforcement personnel from several district offices have been directed to implement Regional Office Order No. 54 and were deployed in various transportation hubs around Metro Manila.
Apart from safe and convenient transportation, Verzosa likewise directed law enforcement personnel to submit confiscated items and the Individual Apprehension Report to the Operations Division within 24 hours from the date of apprehension or confiscation.
The LTO-NCR West covers the cities of Manila, Pasay, Makati, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Muntinlupa, and Las Piñas.
