“The Tatak Pinoy Act is about investing in Filipino competence and talent — that genius and gift must be supported not by exhortation alone but by true, tangible support,” said Marcos in his speech.

“It is about creating products and services of the highest quality because ‘Tatak Pinoy’ is also about excellence, and as a seal of great workmanship, it must only be applied to those that meet these high standards, and as such, we shall give preference and priority to our products,” added Marcos.

According to the Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual, the legislation would support government initiatives.

“We are confident that this legislation will bolster our ongoing programs, propelling industries towards greater global recognition and success,” said Pascual.

Sen. Sonny Angara, the chairman of the Senate committee on finance introduced and sponsored the measure.

“Tatak Pinoy will strengthen the partnership between the government and the private sector. With better coordination between the two sides, the government will be able to implement more projects that will benefit the private sector–be it infrastructure or other initiatives such as those that will improve the skills and capabilities of our workforce,” Angara said in 2023.
