Mayor Binay: Embo residents can avail of Makati’s free health services
MANILA, Philippines — Makati City Mayor Abby Binay said on Thursday that residents of Embo barangays can avail of free health services in Makati City.
The mayor said this after some Embo residents complained about a lack of access to basic health services.

“We have been receiving numerous complaints from Embo residents about lack of access to basic health services. We are also concerned for residents and senior citizens who can no longer avail themselves of free, unlimited dialysis sessions and free maintenance medicines which Makati provides,” Binay said.
Under the provision, Embo barangays may avail of free consultations at barangay health centers and at the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak).
“We also encourage Embo residents to take advantage of the free consultations at all Makati health centers and OsMak. They can go to the nearest health center to schedule an appointment,” she added.
Senior citizens with valid senior citizen cards from the Embo barangays can also avail of free laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic services at OsMak.
Binay added that the health activities aim to “bridge the gap” regardless of geographical boundaries.
“We understand the financial strain medical expenses can place on families, especially in these challenging times. Our proposed activities aim to bridge this gap for the Embo residents, providing much-needed relief and support,” the mayor said.
The Embo barangays include Barangays Pembo, Comembo, Cembo, South Cembo, West Rembo, East Rembo, and Pitogo, which were formerly under Makati City, but a 2021 Supreme Court ruling decided that they are part of Taguig City.
