Missing man found dead on Catanduanes town island
VIRAC, Catanduanes – A man who went missing was found dead along the shoreline of Palumbanes Island in Caramoran town, Catanduanes province on Monday, April 10.
In a report, the Pandan municipal disaster risk reduction and management office (MDRRMO) said the body of Elmer del Valle, 52, a resident of Molave village in Quezon City, was found at around 12:30 p.m.
The victim was vacationing in Pandan town, Catanduanes when he went missing, investigators said.
According to the report, the victim, who was already intoxicated following an overnight drinking spree, went to a beach resort in Pandan’s Balogñonan village with his relatives on Sunday at around 8 a.m.
Based on the accounts of Norman Ramirez, 30, and Reynante Ibloquin, 52, both relatives of the victim, they could not find Del Valle around the area hours later and they assumed that he went home first.
When the relatives returned home at around 5:30 p.m., they discovered that the victim had failed to return.
Authorities immediately launched a search and retrieval operation until they found the victim on Monday.
The body was brought to Pandan District Hospital for examination.
