Motorcyclist dies in Batangas road crash

LUCENA CITY – An 18-year-old motorbike rider died when he lost control of his vehicle while traveling early Wednesday, April 5, in Calatagan town in Batangas province.

Batangas police said in a report that while negotiating a descending section of the provincial road in Barangay Sta. Ana around 2 a.m., motorcycle rider Errol Adona lost control of his vehicle.

The wayward motorcycle crashed into the road shoulder.

The victim suffered grave head and body injuries and died while being taken to the Calatagan Medicare Hospital.

The police are conducting further investigation.

The report did not say whether the victim was wearing a crash helmet for protection as mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
