Pasig gov’t issues ‘Undas’ traffic and cemetery schedule advisory

MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City government on Thursday announced its traffic scheme for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day or “Undas.”

In an advisory, a temporary one-way traffic scheme will be implemented along C. Raymundo Avenue, specifically in the northbound section from E. Angeles Street to Mercedes Avenue.

It will begin at 2:00 p.m. from October 31 (Tuesday) until November 1 (Wednesday).

Meanwhile, the local government also announced the operation schedule of cemeteries and memorial parks.

Four cemeteries, namely Evergreen Cemetery, Pasig Catholic Cemetery, Santolan Catholic Cemetery, and Pasig City Cemetery, will open 24 hours starting at 6:00 a.m.

On the other hand, only Evergreen Cemetery and Pasig City Cemetery will be open for 24 hours on October 31.

The rest of the cemeteries’ operating hours are as follows:

Evergreen Cemetery

November 2 – 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Pasig Catholic Cemetery

October 31 – 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

November 2 – 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m

Santolan Catholic Cemetery

October 31 – 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

November 2 – 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Sta. Clara Mortuary

October 31 – 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

November 1 – 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

November 2 – 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Pasig City Cemetery (Barracks)

November 2 – 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Pasig City Cemetery Office (Barracks)

October 31 to November 2 – 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Dos and Don’ts

The city government reminds the public of prohibited items and activities during Undas.

Banned items and activities in cemeteries include:

• alcoholic drinks

• sharp objects and firearms

• gambling

People are encouraged to bring protection against the sun and rain, ample food and drinking water.

Persons who have flu-like symptoms are being told to refrain from visiting cemeteries or memorial parks and to instead, remain in their homes.

“Bawat sementeryo, memorial park, at kolumbaryo ay may nakatakdang First Aid Tent at PNP Police Desk na matatagpuan malapit sa entrance,” the city government added.
