PDEA seizes P3.4M ‘shabu’ in Cavite bust
LUCENA CITY, Quezon City, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police seized on Thursday, February 22, more than P3.4 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and arrested an alleged big-time trafficker in Bacoor City, Cavite.
In a report on Friday, the PDEA–Region 4A identified the suspect as alias “Alim,” who was classified as a “high-value” target in the government campaign against illegal drugs.
The report said the suspect was arrested at 1:35 p.m. in a buy-bust operation by PDEA agents and local police officers at the parking lot of a shopping mall in Barangay Molino II.
The suspect was caught in possession of 500 grams of suspected shabu, worth about P3,400,000.

Authorities were conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
In Laguna province, a street-level drug pusher was arrested early Friday and seized P115,600 worth of shabu in a sting operation in Cabuyao City.
The Region 4A police reported that anti-illegal drug operatives held “Cris” at 1:03 a.m. after he sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in a transaction in the city proper.
The suspect was found in possession of five plastic sachets containing meth weighing 17 grams and worth P115,600.

Authorities also seized a mobile phone, which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations if it has records of drug transactions. Police tagged the suspect as a street pusher in the locality.
The arrested suspects were detained and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
