MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Army on Monday issued a warning to the public against interacting with social media accounts that impersonate its Commanding General.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Philippine Army said the Facebook and TikTok accounts using the name and photos of Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy Galido are fake.

“The CGPA [Commanding General, Philippine Army] has NO associated Facebook or Tiktok accounts,” the Army said.

“Please report and use social media wisely,” the post continued.

It then asked the public to report or block the said Facebook and TikTok accounts to avoid being victimized by the “impersonator.”

The fake Facebook account has been sharing content from the official Philippine Army Facebook page.

On December 1, the Facebook account posted a video with the caption, “Ipinaglalaban ko ang aking bayan hanggang sa aking kamatayan God bless the people of Philippines.”

(I will fight for my country until my death. God bless the people of the Philippines.)

Meanwhile, the TikTok account has posted one video showing a slideshow of photos from the Army.
