MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) reminded the public on Thursday that it does not offer loans to its members.

The state health insurer issued an advisory on the matter after an online lending company published an article on its website saying that PhilHealth accepts loan applications.

“For members, there is no PhilHealth loan. Immediate benefits and services are provided for your medical condition or surgical procedure,” the state health insurer said in a Facebook post in Filipino.
