PNP: Focus crimes decrease by 28.6% in January 2024
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police said that the number of “focus crimes” committed in January was slashed by more than a fifth, its spokesperson Jean Fajardo said on Wednesday.
Fajardo said that there were 2,301 reported focus crimes as of Jan. 1 to 30 this year compared to the 3,223 reported in 2023 within the same period.

This meant that there was a decrease of 28.61 percent or 922 crimes within the said period.
“With the help of our countrymen, let’s help each other to sustain the decrease of these crimes,” Fajardo said in a press conference.
Focus crimes refer to murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, theft, robbery, car theft, and motorcycle theft.
