BFP: Valenzuela City storage fire doused after nearly 23 hrs

MANILA, Philippines — After almost a day, the blaze that struck a storage building in Valenzuela City was declared extinguished on Saturday afternoon.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire at 958 Warren Compound, De Castro Street, Paso De Blas, Valenzuela City, was doused at 1:56 p.m., nearly 23 hours after it started around 3 p.m. on Friday, March 1.

Earlier on Saturday, authorities said the conflagration was under control at 7:25 a.m.

The BFP said no one was injured or killed from the fire although it was yet to find out the number of affected people and houses due to the blaze. It also said that an investigation was ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

The fire reached the first alarm at 3:15 p.m. on Friday and immediately escalated to the second alarm seven minutes later. It reached the third alarm at 3:46 p.m.
