‘Kasambahay’ in NCR to get P500 monthly wage hike starting 2024

MANILA, Philippines — Domestic workers in Metro Manila are set to receive a P500 increase to their monthly wage rate, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said.

According to the DOLE, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) of the National Capital Region issued a wage order on December 12, granting a P500 increase to their present wages from P6,000 to P6,500. This will take effect on January 3, 2024.

Apart from NCR domestic workers, their counterparts in the Caraga region will also receive a P1,000 monthly wage increase which will be effective on January 1, 2024, as the RTWPB of Caraga issued a wage order.

Meanwhile, minimum wage workers in Caraga will receive a P20 wage increase from the present P350 to P370 that will take effect by January 1, 2024.

Furthermore, an additional P15 wage increase will be effective by May 2024, again raising their wages from P370 to P385.

According to the DOLE, these orders are expected to benefit 65,681 minimum wage workers in the Caraga region, and 256,476 domestic workers in Caraga and Metro Manila.
